Unit Stills Photographer — Bodkin
Serving as the Unit Stills Photographer on Netflix’s Bodkin, I had the privilege of capturing the essence of this darkly comedic thriller set in a fictional Irish coastal town. Every day on set, I documented the intricate dynamics between the cast and the atmospheric locations, providing behind-the-scenes photography and on-set moments that complemented the series’ storytelling.
The series, created by Jez Scharf, follows American podcaster Gilbert Power (played by Will Forte) as he investigates a 25-year-old cold case involving the disappearance of three people during a Samhain celebration. He is joined by Irish investigative journalist Dubheasa “Dove” Maloney (portrayed by Siobhán Cullen) and aspiring journalist Emmy Sizergh (played by Robyn Cara). The ensemble cast also features David Wilmot as Seamus Gallagher and Chris Walley as Seán O’Shea.
Filming took place across various locations in Ireland, including Union Hall, Glandore, Poulgorm Bridge, and Drumadoon Pier in County Cork; Sally Gap, Belmont Demesne, and Enniskerry Carnegie Library in County Wicklow; Fenian Street, Howth Castle, and Leopardstown Racecourse in Dublin; and Dave’s Diner in Julianstown, County Meath.
As the film stills photographer, I was entrusted with documenting both the powerful performances and the subtle moments between takes. Each day on set offered the opportunity to capture the nuanced dynamics between the cast and the evocative settings, contributing to the series’ visual identity across promotional materials, press campaigns, and social media narratives.
